I agree as well as disagree with Chandu.
India is where it is and US is where it is. Don't say you don't want to go because India is like this or want to get GC because US is like this. It's more like what you like or dislike (from India or US); hence you want to stay or go back. People prefer to stay place A as they cannot accommodate in place B and not because country cannot accommodate to what they like. I think that's more of a matter of personal choice.
Having said this, I agree to the fact that India has best things to offer "if once can afford" and "change should come to grassroots".
Moving back to the original question - do I feel like giving up? Yes, I do but I give up that feeling of giving up when I occasionally read what guild, plumberusa cartoons blabber and how much they hate us :)

That is the victory due to our admin fixes campaign. Your thousands of letters are working here.
We had received good feedback in our meetings with the administration.
The whole process of making final announcements is just too slow!!
We recently had another meeting to discuss one more admin fix item that has not been addressed yet and was part of our letters. Let us hope some decision comes out soon enough.
Thanks IV...thanks a lot.

ok...I am trying really hard to understand what you are trying to convey. What is your concern ? People will stop visiting IV and go to other websites ?
No need to be over-dramatic (did not read any one calling you a traitor). People talk about going back to their home countries too (but I actually see a small fraction of people actually doing it).
I am not sure you understand the concept of an organization offering 'services' to its members. X man hours to produce ? what are you talking about ?
My friend it is not just 'information'. Information is money. All you are talking about is 'forums/discussion boards'. I have mentioned this before as well. IV is more than a discussion board and you can make no comparison to other tracker websites.
Here is some additional info about non-profit orgs. You SHOULD read about non-profit orgs in the below link:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-profit
So your definition of support is 'monetary support' only?
I am sorry for being so critical, but then someone has to.
If the idea of monetary only threads is to affirm the show of support, than am i a traitor to the greater good of retrogressed non-immigrants? This is not the right way to go.
Donors here on this very thread have already started talking about people spilling over to sites like and also if members might float other immigration websites.
why are we doing this? Why are we creating differences?
What is the Donor only thread? is it a commodity, that took 'x' man hours to produce, that you are charging money for it?
It is information. period. and as every hour passes, more organisations are providing or striving to provide information free of cost.
Also, what are we discussing in these threads, that we have to be paid members to view it?
Have you even thought about this legally?
Usually, a non-for-proft org has a fund raiser or a money raiser drive or event.
How are you even justifying asking for money to view threads, which is nothing but information that you do not own and have not worked to get it.
Believe me, this is walking on a very thin line.

Even if you are RN licenes and educated in the USA. You still need a visa screen. I had to apply for visa screen. In my case it took only 1 week to get it. you can apply on line and send your documents. I'm not sure about the EAD though. YOu may wwant to post your question on the free Consultaion thread.

How can you join a company on 11/2010 and apply for Perm EB2 on 12/22/2010 ?
I thought they needed to place an ad and do interviews and pre-Perm process takes about 6 months.
I am in 6th year of H1 and I am changing jobs. The new employer will file for GC but since the new H1 will be extended for only 1.5 yrs I was wondering if I will have enough time to get thru to the I-140 stage in that time.
Any Opinion/Suggestion ?
Its pretty easy, a small desi company will start your PERM GC process even before you join them.
You can use this, to start the process in 2 or 3 companies, and when everything is cleared join the one where its sure of getting approved.

Its not a rumor. This is real. Coming to think abt it, he had filed a labor in 2000/2001 time period and had abandoned it when he switched companies. I am wondering if USCIS takes the oldest one an applicant had ever filed.
There you go.....See thinking does help;-).....anyway seriously dude......do you think USCIS go that level to go pick up your friends abandoned labor.....and do the PD Porting without your friend asking for it.....I will be damned...if this is true.....

I am in EB2 with a US Master's degree. My priority date is April 2006 and my case is not approved. Many of friends same boat as me are not approved.
So "reddymjm" I don't think all US Master's degree in EB2 are approved.
I meant most of the approvals are US Master Degrees.

BTW I’ve got a Home Theater at my apartment and my current status is H1B with pending I-140 + I-485 :)
So did you buy home theatre after filing 485 or before? Btw, I dont believe there is any relationship to income wrt visa status.

Hello Rameshk75,
Thank you very much for your reply. It gave me a mental peace. Do anyone believe if I go to the local office on next tuesday they will do something for me ?
i don't think going to local office is going to help. be patient you should get it. In my case it took almost 4 weeks since it got approved to physically receive AP. Although I don't know how long my lawyer held it prior to mailing it to me.

Is there no one here who has a few $ to donate to the organization that gave them so much back, just think about how lucky some of you were to be able to file 485 last july! That alone should be enough reason to donate! Please, please give back to the community that gives you so much in return!
Do what you can
At least do the action items and call the representatives.
Thousands of legal immigrants waiting in EB queues and yet we can't reach even $20K. Let's change this perspective. Please donate in your good conscience.
Thank You.

The USCIS automated line for Priority dates is still playing the PD's for June 2007 showing that EB India cut off June 1st 2003 etc..
We have so contrasting images of the efficiency of USCIS. Hope they keep the same tempo as of the last week of June on Oct 1st when the FT 2008 quota kicks in.
I think we should all chill and not worry what is going to happen. Have a beer. Say Happy Birthday to GW Bush. if the visas are over there is nothing USCIS can do. They cannot generate numbers automatically. So chill everyone.

Every year congress mandates that 140k immigrant visas may be issued. Lets say, in a particular year 200k applications were sent in, but only half of them could reach a stage where they could be approved (rest half are stuck in name check et al). Now you can approve only 100k which means that 40k visas which could have been used will go wasted for that year.

The unbelievable growth in India made me explore a bit in terms of investments, ended up with the financial advise and recommendation from experts that we cannot directly invest in equity as an NRI. Only investment allowed it seems, for NRI is in real estate. Not sure whether this is true. There holds the surprise I could not add up the numbers in real-estate in India. Real estate in India is darn expensive even by international standards (with per capita GDP of $700->$2500 per annum).
Flats in Indian hub cities: 2-bedroom, 1000 sq ft apartment for average $200,000-$300,000 and above. (www.99acres.com) Condos in most major metros in USA: 2-bedroom, 1000 sq ft average $200,000-$300,000 (google housing)
Given that, median income in US is 50 times more than India. I thought the Indian cities are up in bubble. Next, look at agricultural land prices.
Agricultural land in Northern part of India is average $50000 - $250,000 per acre (www. 99acres.com) where in east, west and south is about $20000-$200,000. In Villages its about $15000 to $50000 per acre.
Agricultural land in US is in the range of $6000-$15000 per acre. ($12,000 per acre in NJ, $6,000 per acre in California and $8,000 per acre in Florida. From USDA website)
Now You can do the math. Commercial land is even more expensive in india.
The reason, people say, population density. Now lets look at this factor, the density in India is much higher than USA. But, compare to NJ, NJ is actually slightly more densely populated than most states in India. Real estate is regulated by government in India that prevents easy buying and selling and land survey records are not properly maintained which makes it easy to bump up the price.
Can someone explain to me how in the world, the farmers in India who make less than $1000 per annum continue to own land that is valued at several $100K? How many can afford a home in that country?
Is this what economic experts call "bubble"? I believe there needs to be a correction in the market in India to avoid a disaster.
Good analysis. How long did you take to put this together this comparison?
