It's destiny that I came across your posting.. like you, I am an RN waiting for the DS230 approval also since Oct.2006.. believe it or not ,I was also informed by the NVC to resubmit a new DS230 because the previous one I submitted last year was already outdated. Now, I sent them the updated DS230 last June 27,2007.
I really want to ask if in your opinion, or if you have some positive information regarding this…do we still have a chance of receiving an embassy interview and medical exam schedule before October 2007?
I would really appreciate a response.. thank you

Born in China, you can't get a Visa, even if you have a job not fillable by an US guy. And same thing if you are spouse,child you need to wait for years.
Can we estimate what kind of relief would be given in these cases?
Openheim: 225K recaptured GC family and Employment. Would provide some relief, not a lot!. As for family, about 50GC would go the husband and wife. it would be a first step.
Lowsy job and recapturing wouldn't help a lot! needs to explore other possibilities...

Hi everybody,
I want to know if somebody knows what is going on with Atlanta perm lab center?I applied in Feb 2007 for perm labor and I checked my staus online almost every day.In jUNE 2007 IT SAID ''CERTIFIED''.My lawyer was waiting for the paper in mail..I checked again the status in July 2007and it said ''In progress''.Can somebody explain for me why is like that? What advice do you give me?

This has been there since a long time . Every new process has its backes and the resisters . The president of the US resisted the telephone also when Edison invented it . Relax don't lose your sleep about it . Atlanta is backlogged due to the incompetence and heavy workload of workers there . nothing more , nothing less .

I agree with the above posts, they are stealing money by having stupid charges. Why do you need to charge a customer Rs.400 for changing his account password. It is absolutely ridiculous! Compare that to a bank in US, you just go online and change the password. Also, they have 2 passwords one called Account password to login to the account and another called Transaction password for making any transactions. So the more number of passwords you have the more you tend to forget either of them and they can charge you Rs.400 for each password reset!:mad:

Unconfirmed sources indicate that two days before the end of FY 2007, there may be a substantial number of 485 applications for which visa numbers are available but have yet to be adjudicated, indicating that some visa numbers could be wasted this year. We know that the Service Centers have been working day and night and did not have enough resources to deal with the crisis which was brought about by the recent Visa Bulletin fiasco. We just hope for the better new fiscal year that will start from October 1, 2007.

In continuation to my posting from the previous thread (http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showthread.php?t=20598), I have made some changes to the draft letter based on the comments received from few members. Now I have two versions of the same letters, one for TSC petitioners and other for NSC petitioners. This letter addresses the delay in processing of I-140 petitions at TSC & NSC.
Here are guidelines to mail this letter (pick the letter that corresponds the service center where your I-140 is pending):
1. Please review the corrected draft letters and post any constructive comments on this thread to make it more effective. You can do so until 08/07/2008 (August 7th 2008)
2. Based on the comments and suggestions received, I'll post the final version of the letter to be mailed on this thread on 08/08/2008 (August 8th 2008)
3. Members can then copy/paste the letter onto a word document and then along with completed DHS Form 7001, mail the documents to USCIS Ombudsman's office early next week(08/11/2008 through 08/15/2008). Please note that this form needs to get your employers signature ( or whoever is the petitioner) as we are checking on an I-140 petition.
4. You can find DHS Form 7001 at http://www.dhs.gov/ximgtn/programs/editorial_0497.shtm
5. Please make sure, you provide complete and correct information on this form to be mailed to Ombudsman's office. All forms with incomplete and fake names will be ignored by the Ombudsman's office. So please provide the correct information to the Ombudsman's office for them to investigate this issue.
6. Once all the forms and letters reaches the USCIS Ombudsman's office they will need atleast 4 weeks to look into this problem and send you a response. They are obligated to send you a response, since you sent them a completed Form 7001 inquiring about your case.
7. Please post the responses you receive from Ombudsman's office on this thread. Based on the responses we receive, we can compile the responses and then take the next course of action with IV core's guidance.
Please feel free to post any questions or clarifications you need before mailing this letter.

During the failed CIR bill people here were praising Sen. Sessions for supporting legal immigration and I almost shed tears because deep in my heart I know how they hate immigrants both legal and illegal. The only way we can expect relief is a good comprehensive immigration bill but not from ammendments on other bills like the now defense bill.

I am confused about receipt date?
Notice date is when the receipt notice is generated- That's simple
Is receipt date the date when they do data entry into the system or is it the date when they receive the package even though they may do data entry a month later?
In other words people who filed there application on July 2nd,3rd etc ... and lets say USCIS takes 2 months to receipt those cases.. then after 2 months when the notice is generated won't it have a July 2nd receipt date? for July 2 filers?

My Labor was certified this week from PBEC. My PD is Mar '05. Is Premium filing for I-141 advised?
If you are in EB2, then might as well go for PP for the I-140. Regular at Nebraska is taking 8 months. Given the way dates move erratically, if you get current in the next couple of months (I hope you do, mine is the same PD) you wont have I-140 to worry about, you'll be all set.

Can we use the I-485 receipt notice for extension of DL for my wife. She was on H4 which expires Oct 20. She plans to use the EAD card to work and we will not extend her H4 unless EAD does not come before Oct 20. She got a letter from DMV yesterday asking for additional proof for extended stay. Also will EAD suffice as evidence?
