I do not have any problem in baring the immigration costs, but where will I find such an employer who can sponsor the paperwork.

A lot of employers are willing to sponsor Schedule A applications, as far as you get your own lawyer & bare the costs, especially if they don't have an immigration department. So you may want to let them know that you have a lawyer who can file as soon as. Some employers already have the employment notice.

I agree with you. One of my friends got RFE regarding Birth Ceritificates and medical certificates. I would not be surprised if they ask me the same.
So, how did you submit the Birth certificate then? Can you please share the experience?
My brother managed to get one for me. the issue was that my BC had wrong date and first name (my uncle had reported my birth with that name which was never used again). My brother talked to the officials, gave affidavits, chai-paani etc and they agreed to correct date and put both first names with a slash(/) in between. phew ...what an experience dealing with the Indian beauraucrats.

I just spoke with an Immigration Representative of my Senator. She knows me as I met her last year with my employer for my other issue.
She just informed me that we are (Not only we but whole Congress) shocked with un-precedent action of DOS/USCIS for July VB. Senator's Washington DC office is working on this issue including immediate legislative relief to Employment Based immigration. She is well aware of whole drama of July VB. I am going to call Washington DC Office as well.
I encourage every one call to their Senator and HR and speak with Immigration Representative. I think first time media and lawmakers have acknowledged the problem of Employment Based Immigration.

Me and my wife's 485s had LUDS on 2/18, 2/19 and 2/20. But no status change, and we know for sure we should be getting atleast one RFE. When we applied in July 07 we could not include my Wife's medical/vaccination reports with the application, but no RFE for that yet.

The Congressional Hispanic Caucus has successfully blocked consideration of all immigration legislation until amnesty is brought up for a vote. Unless and until the issue of amnesty is resolved, we aren't going to see anything. On the other hand, if amnesty is voted down, then expect to see just about everything else passed.
The good news is that the jobs bill is ready to pass the Senate within the next day or two. On Thursday, they are going to have the health care summit. At that point, they will either decide to push the health care bill through via reconciliation, or go into extended negotiations with the Republicans. Either way, it definitely looks like a window might open up for CIR in the next couple of weeks.

I thought I will share my experience with all members who are facing processing delay for their I-140. My I-140 was filed at NSC on March 21, 2007 and got transferred to TSC on May 21, 2008. Since then, I see no activities (I believe TSC was treating transfer date as receipt date and they didn’t bother to look at my case). On July 29, 2008, I asked my Lawyer to initiate the inquiry about the delay and his paralegal took the “service center request” from USCIS for my I-140 and service center issued a confirmation number (ETCXXXXXXXXXXXXX) for further inquiry.
Within 10 days of initiating the inquiry, my case was approved on August 9, 2008. Please do so if you think it will help.

I have a suggestion! I don't think forcing monthly $25 contribution to keep donor status alive is a very good idea, especially in current economy. Take an example of myself. It is decided that I am going to loose job on 17th March, may not be able to contribute every month.

I think IV core can give lifetime exception to active members like 'ItIsNotFunny' for their efforts. For others, let monthly contribution stay.

My conservative estimate was 100K people pulling 50K$ out..that would be 5 billions...if more comes out even better
Fight for legislation?? Does anyone has any hopes on it still? You would get piecemeal concessions here and there..but the Indian EB immigration community as a whole gets nothing good out of it...2 year EAD, 5 yr EAD..just to wipe the tears...come on guys think out of the box.
You argue it is not discrimination but it is law. I say the law is discriminatory and nobody wants to change it (remember the horses discussion instead of EB immigration discussion in senate), do you need any better example than this?
Anyways, I leave it to your own judgement..and I am going ahead with my plans...I am not planning to leave the country anytime soon so I am not yet into the drastic measures I mentioned, but I sure have started the funds transfer to Indian banks, pulling out of mortgage application and moving out of US equities markets. Also, I am reducing the amount of money I pump into US economy which is currently 5K per month to ~3-3.5K per month. If it makes any difference I am making ~400K a yr from my job and other investments...

I don�t agree with this point. If I am doing something and taking care of my parents its my duty. it does not mean my wife also have to do tit-for-tat. It depends on the situation and circumstance. If she is the only daughter, her family situation is bad then we can think about it.
In this case, when her two other sisters and specially her brother also in the US, I don�t see the reason to support the in-laws. If you make more than enough it�s different. But when you are struggling to make your ends meet...I don�t support your point on this.
Maybe that brother's philosophy in OP's story is "Stop sending money to parents and in-laws, if its possible. Otherwise, maintain parity by sending money in small amounts to both parents.
